Delia Custer’s two-out RBI double gave Oak Hill a 5-4 walk-off win over Lincoln Academy in a Class B South preliminary-round game in Wales.
Sixth-seeded Oak Hill (11-6)Â advances to face No. 3 Freeport (14-2) in the quarterfinals later this week.
The Raiders (11-6) plated three runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the Eagles (5-12) evened the score with a three-run third inning and went ahead with a run in the fifth.
Oak Hill’s Sierra Lane singled home a run in the sixth to tie the game at 4-4.
Izzy Whitaker pitched all seven innings for the Raiders. She struck out four, didn’t issue any walks and scattered five hits.
Whitaker and catcher Aubrey McElhaney each had a triple.
Natalie Kayler led Lincoln with three hits, while Layla Musial drove in three runs. Kaylor also pitched all 6 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and striking out two.
