Mckenzie Contreras scored two goals in the first half and the Roadrunners (1-2) survived a second-half rally attempt by the Phoenix (0-5) to win in Salem Township.

Contreras opened the scoring with 14 minutes remaining in the first half, then made it 2-0 less than three minutes later off an assist from Jenna Osgood.

Ashley Nelson cut Spruce Mountain’s deficit in half with 24 minutes left when she curled her corner kick into the goal.

Jany Pepin made eight saves in goal for Mt. Abram, and Tyoaka Hodgkin stopped seven shots for Spruce Mountain.
