The third-seeded Falcons (16-2) took the lead with four runs in the fifth inning and held off a late comeback bid by the No. 2 Panthers (15-3) in a Class B South semifinal at Waldoboro.
Winning pitcher Izzy George led Freeport’s offense with a single and a double. The Falcons advanced to face No. 1 York in the regional final.
Claudia Feeley and Haley Puchalski each hit a single and a double for Medomak. Arianna Sproul also had two hits.
