Dakota White’s putback at the buzzer gave Dirigo a 40-39 win over Spruce Mountain in Dixfield.
The Cougars (10-8) led by 10 points in the fourth quarter, but the Phoenix (14-4) stormed back to take the lead with 40 seconds remaining.
White and Brady Philbrick, who hit three 3-pointers, each finished with 11 points for Dirigo, and Owen Smith chipped in eight points.
Spruce Mountain’s Jace Bessey led all scorers with 16 points.
