Levi Laverdiere spurred the Mustangs’ fast start as they took down the Falcons in Monmouth.
Laverdiere made three 3-pointers and scored 11 points to help Monmouth (4-1) build a 21-7 advantage after one quarter. Laverdiere, a sophomore, finished with five 3s and a game-high 25 points. Bingham Abbott added 10 and Aiden Oliveira had nine points.
Blake Small led Mountain Valley (2-3) with eight points.
