Caroline Rousseau scored twice and Ashley Cloutier broke a tie midway through the second period as Cheverus/Windham/Medomak skated to a 5-2 win over the Penobscot Pioneers in a girls’ hockey game Wednesday at Penobscot Ice Arena in Brewer.

Joey Pompeo and Jaylee Radford also scored for Cheverus (9-1-1), the unanimous No. 1 team in the Varsity Maine poll.

Jordin Williams got both goals for fifth-ranked Penobscot (5-4-2).
