Carson Murphy beat the throw home on Eli McCollett’s two-out double to left in the bottom of the sixth, breaking a 7-7 tie during the fourth-ranked Panthers’ (15-3) quarterfinal victory over No. 12 John Bapst (8-10) in Class B North tournament play in Waldoboro.
Murphy led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a ground out before eventually scoring on the hit to left.
Ethan Reed, in his first game back from an injury, rapped out three singles for Medomak Valley. Sam Harman had three hits, including a triple, for the Crusaders.
