Heath McLean assisted on the first two goals and scored the eventual winner as the second-seeded Golden Trojans (15-4) beat No. 7 Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble (9-7-3) in a Class A quarterfinal at Biddeford Ice Arena.
Jacob Marcotte and Brady Pecora each added a goal for Thornton, which had a 3-0 lead until Ayden Lockard and Tommy Demeroto scored for the Knighthawks in the final three minutes.
Thornton advances to play sixth-seeded Bangor in the semifinals Wednesday at Cross Insurance Arena.
