A SOUTH PRELIM: #12-DEERING VS. #5-FALMOUTH

Fifth-seeded Falmouth scored twice in each half and blanked No. 12 Deering 4-0 in a Class A South girls’ soccer prelim.

The Navigators (10-3-2) advance to meet No. 4 Cheverus in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

Margo Hesson gave Falmouth the lead in the eighth minute. Hadley Perry then struck in the 16th minute.

Gwen Long added a goal with 22 minutes to go and Hesson’s second goal, with 10 minutes remaining, accounted for the final margin.

The Rams (4-9-2) got 11 saves from Annabelle Price.
