POLAND — Poland plated four runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to earn a 6-4 win over York in the Class B South softball first-round playoff game Monday.
The seventh-seeded Knights (10-4) trailed 3-0 entering the bottom of the fifth inning. Sydney Lacombe singled and drove in two runs in the fifth, and Khloe O’Leary singled and drove in two runs in the sixth. Pitcher Atlantis Martin struck out five and earned the win.
Elly Bourgoine had two singles for York.
Poland next faces the winner of Tuesday’s game between No. 3 Morse and No. 14 Wells.
