YORK 12, WELLS 2, 5 INNINGS

YORK, WELLS SPLIT: York (5-3) had three multiple-run innings to win the opener, 12-2, and Wells (4-4) ended the second game with three runs in the fifth for a 4-3 win as the teams split two five-inning games in Wells.

Hayden Hendrickson, who had four RBI in Game 1, doubled home three runs in a six-run fourth. John Gennaro struck out six in four innings for the win.

Freshman Spencer Carpenter got the only hits for Wells – his first varsity hit.

Trailing 3-1 in Game 2, Wells loaded the bases in the fifth before Carpenter scored on a hit batsman. Devin Brown then drove in Zach Carpenter and Santiago Fitch-Curry with a double to center.

Gennaro robbed Hayden Barker of a home run with a catch in left field, falling over the fence.
