Cam Wood scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the second half as Winthrop defeated Spruce Mountain 55-44 in MVC boys’ basketball action on Thursday night.
Sam Figueroa added 10 points for the Ramblers (11-1), who outscored the Phoenix 19-9 in the third quarter to turn a three-point deficit into a seven-point lead.
Kayle Stewart led Spruce Mountain (9-2) with 15 points, while Tate Walton chipped in nine.
