MEDOMAK VALLEY 4, POLAND 3: Back-to-back singles led to the winning run as the Panthers (1-0) beat the Knights (0-2) in eight innings at Waldoboro.

Duncan Wisecomb got on base in the bottom of the eighth inning and reached second on an error. Jordan Powell, the next batter, drove in Wisecomb.

The Panthers scored once in the first and twice in the fourth on a combination of walks and errors. They only had two hits.

Poland belted out 12 hits, with starting pitcher Brady Downing notching an RBI double in the fifth. Gawain Tibbetts also had a double in the fifth, one of his three hits, and drove in two runs.

The Knights also got three hits from Adrien Melanson and two from Colby Bell.
