Boothbay 66, Monmouth Academy 63
The Boothbay boys’ basketball team held on to beat Monmouth 66-63 and remain unbeaten this season.
The Mustangs (1-3) gave the Seahawks (3-0) a scare late in the game when Connor Davies was fouled on a 3-pointer with Monmouth trailing by three points. Davies made two of the three free throws, and then Sullivan Rice made two free throws to put Boothbay’s lead back at three points.
Steve Reny led Boothbay and all scorers with 27 points, and teammate Hunter Crocker added 17.
Davies topped the Mustangs with 23 points and Gabe Martin added 17.
