Eli Soehren excelled on the mound and at the plate, and the Vikings (6-0) dealt the Eagles (4-1) their first loss of the season in Oakland.
Soehren tossed a complete game — to improve to 2-0 on the season — striking out eight and allowing only two hits. He also was the main catalyst for the Oxford Hills offense, hitting two doubles and a triple and driving in three runs.
Andrew Merrill added two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs, and Hunter Tardiff and Matt Doucette each contributed a double and a single to the Vikings’ output.
The game was fairly close until Oxford Hills plated eight runs in the top of the seventh inning.
