Quinton Morse scored a game-high 16 points and the Capers (10-7) held on to beat the Patriots (12-5) after surrendering most of a nine-point lead with 1:30 remaining in the fourth quarter in Cape Elizabeth.
Zack Pomerleau scored 15 points for the Patriots, who had a chance to win at the end but missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Nathan Mullen added 13 points for Cape Elizabeth, which outscored Gray-New Gloucester 17-10 in the third to take a 34-32 lead.
