SACOPEE VALLEY 3, TRAIP ACADEMY 2: Grace Sanborn scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning on Haiden Sawyer’s bunt to lift the second-seeded Hawks (15-2) over the seventh-ranked Rangers (11-7) in the Class C South quarterfinals at South Hiram.
Brynn Hink pitched a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts for Sacopee, which will be home against third-seeded Lisbon (13-4) in the semifinals Saturday.
Traip rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the sixth inning to tie the game, as Kathleen McPherson and Reilly Eddy both scored on errors. Eddy took the loss on the mound for Traip, allowing three hits with one walk and nine strikeouts.
