GREELY 10, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4: The sixth-seeded Rangers scored four runs in the bottom of the second to take an 8-2 lead as they went on to beat the 11th-seeded Phoenix in a Class B south prelim game in Cumberland.

Taylor LaFalmme and Sawyer Dusch each had two hits for Greely (10-7), while Kelsey Currier struck out seven on the mound.

Ally Acritelli had three hits for Spruce Mountain (9-8). Haley Turcotte, Hailee Perkins and Abby Ortiz each added two.

Greely advances to play third-seeded Fryeburg Academy in a quarterfinal game Thursday at 5 p.m.
