SCARBOROUGH 7, PORTLAND 1: Courtney Brochu hit a two-run homer and added a two-run double as the top-ranked Red Storm (17-0) defeated the eighth-seeded Bulldogs (10-8) in a Class A South quarterfinal at Scarborough.
Scarborough will be home against fourth-seeded Massabesic (13-4) in the semifinals at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Chloe Griffin struck out seven, and allowed two hits, two walks, and one run for Scarborough. Hunter Greenleaf added a solo homer.
Jessica Brown homered for Portland in the first.
