SOUTH PORTLAND 8, GORHAM 4: The No. 4 Red Riots (6-7) received two goals each from Kaya Backman, Jena Leckie and Molly Walker and built a 5-1 halftime lead on the way to a Class A North quarterfinal win in South Portland.
Paige Fleming and Amelia Pappalardo also scored and Maya Ellington made seven saves for South Portland which advances to the regional semifinals Saturday at No. 1 Kennebunk.
Molly Barr, Haley Keefe, Haley Lowell, and Hailey Morrill scored for No. 5 Gorham (4-9).
