THORNTON ACADEMY 4, NOBLE 3: Josh Lessard scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a Chris Balzano single as the 10th-seeded Trojans (11-6) beat the seventth-seeded Knights (8-9) in a Class A South prelim game in Saco.
Thornton trailed 3-0 after three innings but rallied to tie the game in the sixth when Cameron Seymour hit a two-run home run.
Jake Lacroix scored twice, while William Shapleigh and Bryce Cantin had the only hits for Noble.
The Trojans advance to play second-seeded Gorham in a quarterfinal game Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
